This information is only based on averages of armor found so far on current Dragon Armor pages, it has not been verified by Kabam.

Ultimately there seems to be 4 parts to the Dragon armor in game, Prefix, Material, Core and Suffix. The beginning part of the armor name is the Prefix which identifies an area to increase the stat. Material provides a slight boost to all the stats on the gear. The Core is where the armor piece fits on your dragon and the Suffix is another area that gets an increase in stat. The only other contributing factors are rarity and if it is part of a set.

As you look through the attributes I have tried to identify where the biggest increase to stats are by the name given. The base increase is listed with a single # while better improvements add more # to the listing.

Receiving armor is a completely random act, whether you buy them with rubies or raid the Grodz to earn them. If you are seeking a certain type of armor you will just have to work at it until you eventually (if ever) find it.

For lists of armor

Also, Kabam seems to be deviating from this slightly with armor for the newer dragons. e.g. NSD: Dark Shadow Bracers

Different materials have different looks on your dragon but also provide a different value range.

Note that these findings are not absolute as there is a roll being conducted with the armor piece parts. A high roll on a common iron piece may still be better than a low roll on a green steel or better. Each part of the armor is given a range they can fall into, this means you could have 2 of the exact same armor piece with completely different values.
